Single Ply Roofing

Get In Touch

Single ply roofing is a lightweight, durable and versatile waterproofing solution for commercial, industrial and public sector roofs. Suitable for new build and refurbishment projects, single ply membranes provide reliable weather protection while offering the flexibility to accommodate complex roof designs and detailing.

At CRS, we supply and install single ply roofing systems from leading manufacturers, including Alwitra, Bauder, IKO and Sika. We can advise on the most appropriate membrane, fixing method and roof build-up for your project, considering performance and aesthetic requirements, budget and manufacturer guarantees.

What are the benefits of single ply roofing systems?

Single ply is specified for flat and low-pitched roofs where a lightweight, high-performance waterproofing system is required. Here’s why it works:

Lightweight and durable: Single ply provides robust waterproofing with minimal additional load on the roof structure.
Fast installation: Large, flexible sheets allow efficient installation across substantial roof areas, helping to meet demanding project programmes.
Ideal for complex roofs: Flexible membranes can be effectively detailed around penetrations, upstands, changes in level and other complex roof features.
Versatile specification: Available in different materials, thicknesses and colours, with systems that can be mechanically fixed, adhered or ballasted depending on the roof design.
Thermal performance: Single ply can form part of an insulated roof build-up designed to achieve project-specific U-values and meet relevant Building Regulations requirements.
Flame-free installation: Thermoplastic membrane joints are typically hot-air welded, avoiding the need for naked flames during installation.

Single ply roofing installation and refurbishment

The long-term performance of a single ply roof depends on correct specification, detailing and installation. We consider the complete roof system, including the deck, vapour control layer, insulation, waterproofing, drainage, penetrations and perimeter detailing.

We’ve delivered single ply projects for clients, such as Vue Cinema and AstraZeneca. From initial specification and installation through to maintenance and repairs, we provide the expertise needed to deliver reliable, long-lasting single ply roofs.
