Asbestos Removal and Overcladding

Get In Touch

Asbestos management is serious business. When asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are disturbed, fibres can become airborne and pose significant health risks. Whether removal is the right approach or the asbestos is safer left in place and overclad, you need experienced professionals who know how to manage the job safely.

At CRS, we provide licensed asbestos removal and overcladding services for commercial and industrial buildings, with solutions tailored to the condition, size and structure of your property.

Safe, licensed asbestos removal

Asbestos was widely used in UK construction until it was banned in 1999, which means it’s still present in many older buildings. Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, those responsible for non-domestic properties have a duty to identify and manage the risks associated with ACMs.

Where removal is required, our experienced team carries out the work safely and in line with current regulations. We’re equipped to manage large-scale projects where the volume of asbestos and complexity of the building demand careful planning and specialist expertise.

Asbestos overcladding

Removal isn’t always the safest or most cost-effective solution. If ACMs can remain securely in place, overcladding provides an alternative that avoids unnecessary disturbance and reduces the risk of fibres being released.

We can overclad asbestos roofs, including asbestos cement systems, using durable steel cladding to create a secure, watertight covering. Rooflights, valley gutters and rainwater goods can also be incorporated where required.

Overcladding can be quicker, less disruptive and more cost-effective than full removal, particularly for occupied or operational buildings. We’ve successfully used this approach on projects, including Sankey Bridge Industrial Estate for Warrington Borough Council, where the asbestos roof was safely overclad while the building remained operational.

Choosing the right asbestos solution

Every building is different, so we’ll assess the requirements and help determine whether removal or overcladding is the right approach. Whichever option you choose, you can rely on CRS for safe, compliant work from an experienced team.
